The time scale is divided into eons, eras, periods, epoch, and ages. This can be likened to how our regular calendar is divided into months, weeks, and days. Unlike the years, months, and weeks we are familiar with, these times are not equally divided. Thus some periods are longer than some and some eras cover more time than others. Eons
