When my DH goes out of town for a weekend, about 4-5 times a year, I go to TJ's, buy a bunch of frozen food for the kids to eat, tell them they have to get their own rides home, take care of the dogs, and feed themselves, and invite a few friends over to drink beer on the porch for 10 hours.
