The goal for Geico is to push all older employees out with all these changes. If they have to account for people with pension or employees with excess amounts of sick/vacation time, that drives up their operating cost. If they can hire someone of the street at a starting rate, they know that employee will produce more.

Well said OP. My military friends would describe the way things are being handled as FUBAR. Me, I just think it's tragic and sad. I also use to take great pride in working for Geico, the way they give back to the community and how we felt secure in our jobs.
