Homemade boom pole for tractor

May 20, 2013 · Take a piece of 3/8"x 2'' flat bar and cut a piece that will fit in where the rod rises above the tubing. Grind the flat bar to fit. Tack the rod in place on the tubing, then insert the flat bar and tack in place. Go back and weld the rod to the boom and weld the flat bar to the boom and rod. See pic below.

They also fashion a weighted assembly that is put on the 3 point hitch to counter balance so far out in front of the tractor. The hot shots in the oil field will mount them on the flat bed of they're work truck.Plus I drive others tractors around here and a FEL makes the tractor feel front end heavy and bouncy. I'd probably leave mine off most of the time. For $30 or so I should be able to make what I need.
