Mariza

Mariza was born in Mozambique, a former Portuguese colony in Africa. At three she moved to Lisbon, Portugal, to the quarter of Mouraria/Alfama. This is one of the old quarters of Lisbon, where there is a strong Fado tradition. There grew up with the fado singing style and learned to sing it herself.
