Muckenthaler cultural center
The 18-room Mediterranean-style house was built in 1924 for the Muckenthaler family. While the mansion is beautiful, its main purpose today is art gallery and cultural center. On the day we visited, the exhibit was paper art, which was unusual, varied, and quite interesting. The site includes an outdoor ampitheatre for concerts and presentations.
In 2019, we began an Artist-in-Residence program with Lara Wilson, Choreographer and Leader of The Assembly, followed by Poet and Educator Katharine Zaun in 2020, and Artist Erin Schalk in 2021.
