Sig P226 vs. Sig P320. Modern Vs. Classic For Concealed Carry? It would be a little odd for anyone to really be torn between Sig P320 vs. Sig P226. While it's not quite the difference between chalk and cheese, the two guns are fundamentally different and it doesn't seem like a person interested in one would be interested in the other.I have two P320 Carry (9mm and .357 Sig), a P229 Nitron (.357Sig/40S&W), and a P229 Legion (40 S&W). I conceal carry the P320 Carry in .357 Sig simply because it weighs less and I have two additional rounds in the magazine ( 14 compared to 12 in the magazines for the P229). Sir, I too carried the p239 .40 for many years. After Sig stopped supporting the weapon, I started looking for a replacement EDC. Two weeks ago, I cleaned, cased and placed my beloved 239 in the safe like the "Queen" she is. I am excited to say that her replacement, P320 Carry, has filled the void nicely.We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us.Master the first DA shot and the rest (SA) is just amazing. They are called Classics for a reason. They are more complicated than the P320 and therefore more difficult to work on, but it's a Sig so that means it doesn't really need work except for routine maintenance. The P226 is the AMG Mercedes.
Fair point for the drop failures on early models, but that issue has been well addressed. I haven’t seen any police departments having anymore issues or the Army or Air Force with the M18/M17 that is essentially a P320 with a manual safety. Like the others have said, the P229 is heavier than the P320; that makes shooting it a little nicer (since the weigh soaks up a little more of the recoil), but you'll notice the difference if you carry.
