P365 takedown lever stuck

The takedown lever moves freely between 5 and 7 o'clock but the slide is essentially immobile. It only moves enough for me to hear it clicking against whatever is stopping it. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos and read some threads but was unable to find this same issue.

P365 slide is stuck on frame. I have a standard P365. I bought a XL slide, barrel, and grip module to convert it into an XL. The grip module hasn’t arrived yet so I stuck the slide/barrel on the standard lower. The slide is now stuck on the lower. It will rack about a half inch to the rear. A new, full mag is then inserted in the pistol and the slide is pulled to the rear and released to load a fresh round. The mag is out and the slide is locked back but the damn takedown lever will not go to 6 o'clock position no matter how hard I force it. My thumb is bleeding at this point lol. Might not be the same, but for a while the 320s needed to push the barrel down or back slightly to allow the lever to drop. This fixed it.

This is a very common issue caused by fiddling with the FCU and leaving one of several candidate pieces out of position. More often than not the Takedown Safety Lever is the culprit. It could also be the slide catch lever spring, but first you need to get the slide off to tell. The takedown lever does rotate. The slide lock lever is locked into the up position. Probably got the wire spring jammed against the frame. The first is that the takedown lever is not down, which is cured by lifting the slide stop, and the second is the safety lever near the sear is in the up position which blocks the slide.It should rotate down and up normally.
