Package acceptance pending for a week

It was in “pending acceptance” for 8 days then showed up in my mailbox on the 9th day. Did it just randomly show up without updates? I had a package stuck on this for a week and then it finally scanned in. Took another days after that to get to me. Now I have a handful stuck in pre shipment. The post office sucks lately.
