Dear Alumni and Friends, I am happy to be sending you our Fall newsletter, and I hope you enjoy reading the linked reports about the exciting work going on in our Physics Department, including a look at our machine shop which now provides services to the entire College of Natural Sciences.

The Instructional Physics/SEAS Machine Shop, located in the basement of Lyman Lab, is set up to be primarily a teaching shop for the Physics Department. We have a state-of-the-art facility, complete with computerized machine tools and full arc welding capabilities. Basic training is required for all shop users.Our shop maintains the student machine shop. This modern facility (for use by Physics/Astronomy Department affiliated persons) is a complete machine shop. The student machine shop is equipped with mills, lathes, saws, grinders and gas welding equipment as well as all the necessary hand tools and measurement equipment. and the physics machine shop - the late Andy Pommer and Bob Parker.
