Stellaris mid game crisis. To my knowledge there's 3 mid game crises: the Gray Tempest (possible L-Gate outcome), AI uprising (only possible under certain conditions including sentient AI living in servitude) and the Great Khan (only if Marauders are around and band together). So yes, it's more than just possible to never have a mid game crisis at all.
