Summer Lake Hot Springs is about 130 miles south of Bend and six miles north of Paisley, in a part of the state known as the Oregon Outback. Graham was a Portland-area contractor when he bought the 145-acre property that included the hot springs in 1997. It was a former chicken farm along the southeast corner of Summer Lake.
