If you are buying items for rep, Sunfury Signet are more cost-effective. At the time of this post, you can buy about 20 Sunfury Signets (500 rep) for the price of 1 Arcane Tome (350 rep). As the market changes, tomes may become more cost-effective, but you shouldn't pay more for a tome than 14x the going rate of a signet, if all you want is rep.In other words, it makes more sense to use Firewing Signets (which you can farm much faster) to get to Honored, and save all of your Sunfury Signets for the grind from Honored to Exalted.
