9. Grindelwald. One of my favorites amongst the most beautiful villages in Switzerland in winter, is Grindelwald. Grindelwald village is located in a mountain valley within the Bernese Oberland area in the center of Switzerland. What used to be a tiny, farming village, exploded with popularity once the ski resorts were built in the 1800s.
