I love them. They are merchant chests, and some aren't hidden all that well (Dawnstar's Kajiit Caravan chest, for example). However, some are literally underground and we're discovered by pure happenstance (Whiterun market comes to mind). Not Easter Eggs for the player, but useful nonetheless. They're hidden behind the scenery because they're supposed to be hidden behind the scenery. As in, you're NOT supposed to access them. Which is why they are hidden behind the scenery. It doesn't AFAIK move any of the others, but the only one I know of that you can actually access through the floor anyway is Colette Marence's in the Hall of Attainment (& that requires you to find a very specific section of floor).For weapons, the highest value enchantments are as follows (in descending order): banish, turn undead, fear, absorb stamina. The last two are pretty easy to find. This is how to make iron daggers valuable.
