It took a whole 2 minutes to install, just pop your old one off, and slide and clip this one right in. It gives your Mini-14 or 30 that retro M1 Carbine style.

Looking at the M1 Amega Ranges installed on my "tanker" and the M14 Ultimak in the box, it's hard to tell which would sit lower on the M14. I'll probably end up buying the Amega Ranges mount as well, then selling off whichever one I'm least impressed with.
